Default Museum Quality 928 on eBay

It even has the ultra-crazy rare "Cole Trickle Option" set of tires on there staggered just right for passin' in turn 4 on the outside.

I have seen folks mis-mount the S4 wheels front to back, but never both fronts on one side both rears on the other. WTF?!!!

Engine looks like it's got a good leak in the front. Can't believe the "Car Guy" didn't realize that the wheels were on the wrong! Duh.

Surprised at the price for an Auto, seems there is definitely more interest in 928's lately.

OK - I bow to your visual acuity - how can you tell about the wheels? I realize they are normally different sizes front vs rear, but I can't see the difference left to right in these pics or read the sizes off the tires. What am I missing?

All "4 wheel" closeups are of the same side of the car showing the wider rims with slight inset face. Might have seen their mistake in the films and tried to slick past it.

The profile views of the car show the mismatch. Wide rims on that side of the car. Regular front flatties on the other side.

My avatar car has the wides on the back, narrows on the front as the S4 should have, if you look real closely.

The red interior is pretty slick though.

I agree that interior is just really cool. I like the black over red. Would like it better in a black car.

Museum quaility? Not sure about that. I'd call it 'a very clean, low mileage S4'. But museum quality is pushing it.

It's "museum quality" relative to most cars that make it to public market. In an absolute sense it may be a stretch. Remember that museum cars only need to run enough to get them to and from storage.

This is a good candidate because of the apparently good cosmetics. The platinum rims are a nice option but they have the classic wheel-cleaner streaks on them. The engine bay needs a full refresh but is apparently very original. This one gets the instant $5k add-on for required age-related services needed, but otherwie looks to be a great deal for someone. Car was originally sold in Ohio so it doesn't have the rear AC option. In Florida I think I' like to have that even in a white car.

Hopefully, someone who loves and appreciated the car will get it, and make a true show-quality ride out of it.

Bob, I was thinking the same thing about the wheels and I find it interesting that Porsche calls a wheel that is CLEARLY NOT SILVER "Platinum", since platinum is kind of a super silver anyway! I would call them bronze or gold personally, but that is just me. Regardless I agree with you that those wheels are NOT Museum quality and the fact is you can't get that color redone ANYWHERE anymore! SUCK!

Incidentally, if you call up Wheel Enhancement (one of the big time Porsche wheel restorers) they will tell you the bright silver like on my S4 (and most S4's) is the platinum finish...I think they have it right at WE! Somebody at Porsche needs to go back and see what PLATINUM actually looks like!

Wow, gotta agree with Dan! That red would look outrageous in my black shark!

BTW Dr Bob, I don't have the rear A/C in mine, and it's been converted to R134. Never turn it above 2 on the fan speed, it'll freeze you out, even in the Vegas summer heat.

Pole and Bob, when a 928 A/C is working correctly (and the heater valve is fully closing too) they WILL freeze you out and you don't need those PITA rear units! They just add one more level of un-needed complexity to an already very complex car.

That red looks good on white cars too, but I think in this case with the black/red it would look better in the black car!

I agree, except...the door inserts are a shade off, as seen on a number of cars. Anybody know why that is??
