But it doesn't have burgundy...
My general preference on black 928's is the gray interior. But mine came with cashmere. Thought about changing it but decided it's too nice to tear out. Plus it's original to the car. And it kind of grows on you after a while. It's a hard decidion to rip out a good interior just for a minor color change. My too sense.

TRIPLE BLACK???? You have a convertible with a black top then? That is what triple black always has referred to... Black paint, Black interior, Black top...this started with little convertible sports cars...

By triple-black you mean paint/seats/rugs? It's easy enough to swap in different seats, or change the carpet and door-panel insert color. Easier to justify if the original stuff is tired; my memory of your car is that the carpet is still in OK condition, at least was when I saw it last with Ron P. Most folks say it takes a couple casual days to replace all the carpeting, maybe a tad more if you go seriously into sound deadening as part of the process.
Funny thing about the whee probem, I think I saw that same car on ebay a while back with a nice set of turbo twist wheels. Even talked to the owner, guess this person put it back to "original" to qualify for museum quality.
I called the salesman listed on the auction the day this thread appeared (1/15/11) and left a voice mail. I said to "look at that last photo... see how it lists larger tires for the rear on that little gold sticker inside the fuel lid? Well, the tires are not the only thing wider on the rear... the wheels are also, so you may want to put the wider wheels & tires from the passenger side on the rear. Just a thought."
Ted,
If your "platinum" (nee, gold or bronze) wheels are in excellent condition then take REALLY GOOD care of them! If you ever want to go back to stock form (or a future owner does) they will NOT be able to get that gold or bronze finish redone (at least not at this point...who knows what someone might come up with in the future, but it is NLA right now).
Bill, you haven't bought a GTS yet?! Please, for the love of god man, call Michael Willhoit and just have him ship one of the white GTS's down to you! Trust me in the long run it will make you WAY, WAY happier than settling for an S4 or looking for one that when it shows up at your door step you go, "what the hell did I just buy?" At most it will cost you $1k or $2k (maybe $3k) more and trust me the headache you will not get alone is worth that extra peace of mind!
