Default GTS Pricing

So I am in the market for a well sorted and well serviced 94-95 GTS. I'd prefer the 5 speed but would consider any. I've run a search and perhaps am not using it quite right, but would be interested in knowing what the consensus on pricing is. I know the folks in Springfield charge a premium, but how much of one?

Thanks much in advance.

Call Michael Willhoit and buy one of his. He consistently has the best cars at reasonable prices and you will know everything going on with the car before you get it and he will send it to you ready for a car show!

I have told several folks to just do this same thing and they waste months searching in vain on their own and even if they find something it is likely a crap shoot if they get the REAL story on the car and REALLY know what is up...

But what do I know...I have only been in to 928's for 16 years and have 2 GTS's...

Has anyone other than Willhoit sold a used 94-95 5-speed?

Oh. Wait. Ok. I know of one dude. I bought ours from him...

For the OP: IMO, a well-sorted 94-95 GTS will be $40k - $Willhoit.
You could probably buy one if you search long and hard for $25-$40k and it will need between $15k-$0k, respectively, to make it truly well-sorted.

Given there are just 74 - 1994(44) and 1995(30) 5-speeds your choices are somewhat limited. I think my buddy DC might be a little optimistically low for a well sorted 5M 94/95 GTS.....

I agree with Chuck, and believe a WELL SORTED, very good to excellent condition 5M 94/95 GTS is going to be $40k on the low end (ie higher miles and not quite as pristine interior/exterior) and $55k for a 30k-ish mile ready to go to a show level car. REALLY LOW MILE GTS...could be close to $100k! We have seen it recently with a 6700 mile '95 GTS...

It's whatever the market will bare at any given point in time. For sure the market has softened from a couple years ago when a few sold for close to $100k (actually a couple for more.....), mine included. Personally I think anyone who knows what they have will not sell for less than MW will sell for. I don't think values are going to drop from here....... Having said that, there are always opportunities if you're in the right place at the right time.

Chuck, AMEN BROTHER! I hope you are right about the not dropping part!

I would also add that going the auto trans route probably drops those numbers $5k to $7k... Also seems like there are more higher mile less well cared for AT cars to choose from.

By less well cared for, higher mileage, you mean driven, not sitting for months or years on end, right?

It all depends upon the definition of well-sorted. This near-mythical $40k 5-speed would be a higher-mileage car that has had the 20-year maintenance (all rubber, gaskets, plastic and sensors in the engine bay) done in the last 5 or-so years. The $25k 5-speed would be a higher-mileage GTS that needs the 20-year maintenance.

Default Supply and demand...

Mine is just broke in at 140K miles is it for sale heck no!
Why not, well if I sell it I know that the likely hood that I will find another one is almost zero and this car has grown on me like no other. I’ve made the mistake in the past to sell out of some special car that later-on shot up in value but none of them gave me the driving pleasure and comfort as the 5 spd GTS.

If you can spare the money go and get one now!

Enjoy

To the OP, threads regarding GTS pricing usually go south quickly and turn rather contentious........... If you search you will find more then a few threads usually the same people saying the same things (including myself). I've given my opinion and now I'm out of this one. Good luck.

I've had mine for over 2 years, it's well sorted and has 49k miles, and I wouldn't take a penny less than $50k for it. Best car I've ever owned, driven, looked at, smelled, sat in, listened to music in, heard runnin', thought about, you name it. And it will turn heads better than the newest car out there.
