I imagine CPI is "cells per inch"???? and the lower the number the higher the "flow"

Anyone?

Ive got a set of 100's on the way from Rog.

Post Be careful

Though cars 1987 and older do not need to be e-tested, they still need to have all the emissions control equipment that was originally installed by the manufacturer (looking for confirmation, I'm sure high flows would be Ok). Smog police can hand out fines to older vehicles, for not having cats or for any other tampering of emissions control systems.

I plan on a 100cpi with an x-pipe and Stebro exhaust after a few other more critical items are sorted out.

There aren't many smog cops, but they are around.

Yes, 100cpi (cells per inch) cats have the best flow and will clean up a properly running S or S4 to well below required specifications. We also tested 200cpi (6-8 rwhp loss), 300cpi (8-10rwhp loss) and 400cpi (11-14rwhp loss). The higher the cell count, the better job it does of cleaning the exhaust gases but the more restriction to flow.

Our cat manufacturer has quit producing our style and specifications so as soon as our current stock is depleted, we may have to switch to a 200cpi. (which are available)
