I keep seeing posts about the hp gains from installing an X-pipe. It appears like a simple way to bolt on additional power. I may want to do this in the future (once I am sure the stock car is running as it should) but I am leary of the emissions impact here in Ontario. Have any Ontario Rennlisters installed X-pipes on cars that still require smog testing? How did it go?

The x-pipe, when used with the cats has no effect on emissions. My car actually was cleaner with the x and new metal cats than the year before, with the stock setup.

Check with the Ministry of trans. My 87 no longer requires an E-test (as of last year). In a year or two you will have the option of removing the cats, or replacing with the high flow units (my choice). RMB already installed.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario%27s_Drive_Clean: "At the other end of the age spectrum, the exemption for vehicles 20 years old and older was phased out. Vehicles built in 1988 and afterwards would have "fallen out" of the program after 19 years (for instance, a 1988 vehicle would no longer need testing after 2007). As a result of this change, such vehicles must continue to be tested every two years as long as they are on the road. Vehicles built in 1987 or before have now left the program permanently."

My cars fitted with the X pipe and high flow cats pass much cleaner than the original stock cats.
They are amazed how clean the cars are at the test station.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I sell X pipes and ship to Canada 8>)

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

So it doesn't seem as if there is an issue with modifying the factory system as long as it passes the actual emissions test. That is good news.
+1 on the request to Roger. I couldn't find anything referenced on the site. Do we need to contact directly with e-mail?
Thanks.

Roger has that quite well sorted.![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
As we all know up here, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE UPS.
Unless of course you don't mind paying insane "Brokerage" fees.
Some of us have had experiences where these "fees" were well in excess of 100% of the purchase price of the item.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
Your call.
