to check if you have a LSD,
jack both rear wheels off the ground,
then spin one side if the other side turns in the same direction you have an LSD,
if it spins opposite then you have an open rear end

Some '86.5 models did come with that option but by '86 it was a rare option as too many soccer moms wrecked their cars because they didn't know how to drive them with limited-slip. Out of the four I own only one has LSD

222 5sp US '86.5 and 411 automatics where made with LSD. That is 1/3 of production.

PM your VIN to me or someone else with PET 7. That will give the codes for your car.

My '86.5 auto has LSD.

I made this mistake with the '86.5 parts car. In P or in gear it spum like an open differential. I was scratching my head as teh case stamping, option sticker both indicated LSD then I think someone here posted that it had to be in N. Sure enough, when it was in neutral, both wheels spun in the same direction.

It has to be in neutral. If its not, locked gearbox will force diff to rotate into opposite direction.

My 86.5 has LSD. It also has full leather option, and champagne (tan) leather option on top of that...and sport seats. Seems the guy who originally purchased the car ordered "the works" on this burger. I didn't know what I had when I bought it (neither did the seller), but this car seems to be special simply due to how the original owner apparently ordered ALL the luxury and sport options. I really like the champagne interior while with black carpet. I've only seen other champagne interiors with the hard-to-keep-clean tan carpet.

Just like a pregnancy test, except that 2 lines is 'good', in this case.
