Brian, '84 ABS was optional

Roger told me his '78 Euro has no rear fog. Switzerland.

I find this minutia very interesting. There is a special porsche booklet of about 15-20 pages on the morehouse CD that goes into detail on the changes that were made from MY 84 to 85 one of which relevant to this discussion is a change in how the electric connections were made on the back of the pod.

Porsche were extremely busy in 85, before the automation of today, with 2 different V8 engines and all the accessories that accompany them for the 928 and beginning the redesign of the 4 valve for 87, plus winning in F1 and dominating Le Mans racing.

Anyway here is one from pistonheads as Hilton suggested to look at, inconclusive I can't say for sure if its missing - what do you think, AND LOOK AT THAT CARPET!

2 fogs no bumperettes

same here

after seeing another one with a clear view I would say British ones also did not have the fuel consumption guage.

also first time I have seen this -- no lockbox between the back seats and supposedly it was an option -- #417.

Derek 86.5,
I have no affiliation with this sale, except that I looked at it to buy but decided I want an S4 Automatic. The seller was more than happy to send me copies of the receipts for the work that was done, and I simply added them up and offered it to the List.

Interesting discussion about the varied distinguishing characteristics of the Euro model, but if a car has the M28.21 engine (for 84-86) and the ROW serial number then isn't it a Euro no matter what other configuration is presented?

ROW rest of world, and Euro get used pretty interchangeably, but as mentioned there are market to market differences. I agree what it has is what is important.

The other threads, without me reading them suggest the car has been "for sale" since 2006.

I like to see full receipts to know the history, but unless I know the shop doing the work is first rate, or at least OK, how much they total up to doesn't mean a thing to me. I like to read them to see how PM was done, how complete repairs were, what parts were replaced, and what kind of comments the mechanic made.

Euro cars from border states give me some concern that they may never have been federalized, so that paperwork would at the top of the list of things I wanted to see.

TV, what is the title of that document and where is it within the Morehouse CD?

I've found the 84 v 85/6 LH/EZF (all Euro) test plan that does a good job comparing the nuances of ignition electronics for the these 3 years of Euro.

Is there another booklet, too?

Am wondering if I lost some files.

Yes it is a seperate booklet and quite detailed with elaborate drawings of the transmission for example and it goes into the details of all the changes for MY 85 including the pod, the seats, the windshield, the antennae no longer outside and many more.

Where on the CD -- going from memory (years) -- in a section of extra's , maybe even the section that contains all the technical bulletins put out in the later years. I have read everything on that CD at least once and this booklet was really nice. Lots of other cool stuff on there too.

Let me know if you find it,

in searching for something else online this morning, I just came across these; (save all pics I ever post as they are links that might disappear or pics that I recycle if I post)

LOL!

Rear of the Aussie car looks very nice and clean without the fog lamp and bumpers.

You know whose car looks good is Brian's, because it is very low miles, black, and avoided the federalization lights! I would like to see Afshin detail it and then some high fashion style shots of it in and around Boston at day and night with a top photographers camera - those 25 megapixel ones.

Thanks! Afshin may soon be suffering 928 withdrawl, and he is welcome to get his fix with my car anytime! However, I must admit that Brad's 85 Euro would look just as good, if not better, with Afshin's touch. His appears to be extremely straight, all original paint. Mine has had some paintwork in it's past. Brad's also escaped any federalization add-ons, and retains the Euro rear bumper/foglight.

Well then use both, 2 black euro's all shined up with a good camera. Brian your wheels still have that gold hue to them, compliments the black almost JPS like, can't tell with Brads. Not many really nice euro's left or any other early ones.
