I think the white balance of the camera was off, could be grey-green, classic grey or maybe cararra grey?

Ha ha ha - good catch. Clearly reflects wishful thinking on my part. Unlikely I'll be able to attend, but I'll hope for the best.
The interior in mine isn't nearly so nice, especially the wood. Eventually it would be nice to refinish them to eliminate all the cracks in the varnish(?). Sadly the original stereo was gone and neither of the two shops I took it to was able to get a stereo to work with the original CD changer. But it is the only place I've the car I've found that indicates it was at the Exclusive shop.
Best regards

The guys at Madera concepts in California refinished a set for me for ~$500, would be a little bit more including the shifter handle. Worth every penny! The factory used a lot of nasty black strip caulk to seal the center console piece in, be careful if/when you go to remove it. The radio needs to be completely out of the dash 1st due to the thicker console piece.

I guess it may be a numbers game but it seems a lot less 928s got the "exclusive" treatment as opposed to the 911. Maybe it was a price point issue as well. My 964, 993 and even my 997 had exclusive options.
I did have my hands on some 964 wood dash trim. It was literally 1/2 inch thick. Not an overlay. Impressive

Exclusive option use in the US market was very limited, other than the cloisonne crest center caps, and even those there were only ~222 US cars so equipped. All of the other single exclusive options were ordered on fewer than a dozen cars, with most in the low single digits. In the ROW marker, at least according to PET, Exclusive options were much more prevalent, with many individual option codes occurring 100s of times. That said, I keep a regular eye out for used Exclusive bits on Ebay.de, co.uk, fr, and it, and I rarely if ever see anything. So either someone's hoarding it all, or these Exclusive cars are preserved at a much higher rate.
If anyone ever sees rootwood bits for sale, I'm interested.

You came back from the future?
...What I find interesting about this car is the color of the interior. Granted, this was photographed through a (green) tinted window, but it is certainly not classic grey, and doesn't look light enough for light grey, either. I suspect this is in fact greygreen - a color that had been phased out years earlier (last offered in 88)....

Overall, this car is stunning!

But I don't think this is Grey/Green. The green doesn't appear to be dark enough. I have a Grey/Green interior, and the green is almost "Olive Drab" (think "Army Green").

They were delivered to the dealer and sold off the lot, right?

The company was called 'Rösler & Weissenberger', and was located in the Stuttgart suburb of Bad Cannstatt.
I was able to find the article below, which states that they started making housings for TVs and Radios, and ended with wooden steering wheels (8th paragraph):
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.stuttgarter-zeitung.de%2Finhalt.der-wandel-eines-industrie-areals.1ca3a76b-11a9-447f-8017-59a52671d023.html&edit-text=
...he saw plastic in the mid-sixties displace the wood casings of Rössler + Weissenberger. How the company converted in the 80s and built kitchens.Or how in the 80s and 90s in Cannstatt, the wood interior for Mercedes or Fiat were made. Until 2005, steering wheels made of wood and leather were produced.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes to me: At the time, the bodies were already made in an automated factory. It may be difficult to do one-off variations in an automated process like this. But it sounded as if there was indeed a cut-over at some point.
If I get more details, I'll post it here.

Nicole,
I have the US XX8 "Exclusive" 91 GT.
Looking at the doorjambs shows absolutely perfect factory seams, zero evidence of post production line work. BUT... I have not yet looked from the inside/removed the wheel well liners or deeply investigated the quarter panels from behind the interior. Next week, I'll get it up on the lift and look for any hidden evidence that the "wide body" quarters were "spliced in" at the factory.
Porsche has often built custom cars both on and off the production line, so this is a mystery worthy of our curiosity.
Enjoy!

Nicole,
Vin: WP0AA292XMS810182 / LHD/928 GT USA
Build Date: October 8th, 1990
It would be great to find out where it fits in the production sequence of XX8's as it is also alleged to be a Porsche factory show car that was sold after use in the New York Auto Show.
The first ROW XX8 S4/Germany was WP0ZZZ92ZMS800191 but I do not know its production date.
The first ROW XX8 GT/Germany was WP0ZZZ92ZMS800579 but again, I do not know its production date:
Here is a Big *** shot of the option sticker:
