Another consideration for proper operation the throttle plate must close 100% when pressure on the pedal is released. This closure gives proper engine idle speed and decelleration.

I'm with Hilton on the cables..........the motorcycle cable lube tool he refers to works very well..........it was designed to lubricate cables that are exposed to all the elements.

Didn't Porken install a lighter throttle return spring on one of his 928s? You might consider pinging him, or searching his posts.
