race seats in s4?
ok guys, i have a question. i am going to reapolster my seats on my s4 and i was wondering if i should drop in race seats instead? i want to do alot of teen driving courses and eventually do a little bit of trach days with my car. i am not going to get to seriouse with my car on the track because it is a auto. so do you guys think i should put race seats or just reapolster my seats and leave the regular seats in my car?

Don't let the fact that it is an auto slow you down...trust me you can FLY in an auto 928...I have whipped many, many people in them.
As to race seats as long as you are on the track they are fine, but comfortable they are NOT! At least not the fixed bucket seats! If you get the "semi-race" seats that are out there (look at Tony's 94 GTS paint and delete thread) they can be pretty comfortable, save some weight and as long as they have the harness holes you can use harnesses with them and you will be able to stay right in place while doing track events. Use harness hooks or a harness bar and bingo, you are good to go!
Still have a REALLY, REALLY hard time with a TEEN driving an S4... OB or early S, sure, S3 and up...not so much...just seems like a REALLY BAD accident waiting to happen... Here son, take this Desert Eagle 50 with one in the chamber and a full clip and have a good time, try not to hurt anyone...

Yea, I know we have been over it before...
On the seats though...go with an adjustable back rest race seat (there are quite a few out there) and you will probably be good to go!

I use a Recaro Speed for track days. Gives extra room for a helmet, can use 5-pt harness, reclines. Keep in mind a 5pt harness sucks for everyday use, so if you get a race seat be sure you can use the regular seatbelt with it as well. I don't find the Recaro comfortable for everyday use, so I just swap it in and out as needed. It's not bad, just not a comfy as the stock seat. YMMV.
