Looking for Wheels for 90 S4
Hi
I am looking to upgrade or change my OEM wheels.
I am in So Cal.
I am looking for 16'' so I can keep my tires thaey are close to new.
If not I will go to 17 or 18''.
Any suggestions of retailers.
I do not want to pay a fortune.
Any suggestions would be helpful....

I'd probably up grade to 18" wheels...in fact I just did for one of my cars. If you look around you can find the CIII (that is Carrera 3) wheels off of the current 997 for pretty good prices and they are a very modern looking thin 5 spoke wheel that fits the 928 like a glove. I think it REALLY updates the look of the S4 in particular! Keep your 16" wheels for the day you either want to sell the car, or as track tires/wheels, or if you want to take the car to a serious Concours where they are interested in factory correctness.
There is a whole thread on the CIII wheel that is currently active where you can see some wheels. There is also a thread that is a few pages down that is called "who has the coolest wheels" or something like that anyway, and there you can see ALL KINDS of wheel designs on 928's.
Good luck with your quest.
Incidentally anyone looking for CIII wheels in the D/FW area there is a decent set listed on D/FW CL and you can probably get them for $1k...maybe even $900. Tires mounted but somewhat worn. Still enough tread to get a few more good miles out of them as I understand from the owner. I can put you in touch with the owner if you would like an intro.
