there are 2 known in the US, 1 in Texas which has funky paperwork, the other IIRC is in the Denver area
you can legally import a 78-80 RHD into the US without federalization, as of Jan 1 you can bump that up to 1981

the one in Denver IIRC is an early OB, the one in Texas is and 83 or 84, hence the "funky" paperwork, I almost bought it a couple years ago when it was on ebay in Florida, the guy sold it out from under me to a gent I know in Texas (nice guy so it didn't bother me that much)... not sure about any in Canada, your best bet is to hook up with one of the guys in the UK to help you find a nice example... if you have any questions on the paperwork let me know and I'll walk you thru it

Shipping to the USA about $1000 (to any main port)

Just seen your Cape Town post , shipping would be about $1000 to there as well .
P.S. One of my best friends here is from the RSA , he plans on taking his '92 GTS back there with him.

Man, I would NOT want to ride shotgun in a RHD 928. That would freak me out. I'd be constantly grabbing for the (missing) wheel or hitting the clutch and brake.

I'll bet it would be wild for other drivers too, seeing no one where the driver should be. Maybe you could get a dog to ride shotgun to see the reactions.

And welcome back Heinrich!

Mike I grew up driving RHD Porsches and other cars, and I recently had the opportunity to drive RHD again and I MUST HAVE one ... it is more natural to me to have the right hand available for steering all the time.

You know, I've never even sat in a RHD vehicle, let alone driven one, but being very right-handed (my lefty is just clumsy!) I have always wanted to have my "good" hand on the wheel instead of shifting. So I understand your feeling.

Best would be center-seated with paddle shifters.

I was in England several years ago and they rented me a 5 speed with no questions asked. It was the first time I'd ever driven a RHD car and I was shifting with the wrong hand and pulling onto a roundabout the wrong way. Oh, and it snowed. It's a good thing they only have two radio stations over there (both broadcasting a cricket match?) or I might have been too distracted.

That was WEIRD. But, to each his own. Good luck on the search, that will be a nice acquisition.
