Default Rough idle when cold?

Hey Gang,

I installed my x-pipe and didn't notice anything at first, except noticeably more power, but now my car idles rough and bogs a little until it reaches 175-180 deg. Any ideas? The 02 sensor was replaced at 60k, car has 78k on it now. Could the x-pipe be messing with the computer/fuel mix?

Thanks, and happy holidays!

did you damage the O2 wires when you removed the old header pipe? IE was the header hanging by the wires till you got them loose?

I disconnected the o2 sensor before doing anything, so i don't think so.

The old adage of 'what you touched last' would seem to indicate the O2 sensor.

Did you remove the O2 from the old cats while they were on the car? If so perhaps the wires were twisted and one broke. IIRC the 2 white are the heater and the black is the signal...........should be easy to check with an ohm meter.

I guess I'll be buying myself an ohm meter for x-mas. What load should I test for and where? Thank you.

Dumbassed question but someone's gotta ask it.....

did you plug the O2 sensor back in? Are you sure? Did you double check that it just doesn't just look plugged back in?

I didn't actually unplug it, just unscrewed it from the original pipe, installed the x pipe and screwed it back in. Just left it dangling. I'll check and see if the connector got loosened.

no need to check given the numbers of turns made to remove and install the sensor.........wire are shot............go buy yourself a new O2 sensor.

When you get it disconnect the old sensor wiring under the fuse/relay panel and thread it through the floor then unscrew from the x............install is the reverse being careful not to allow the wires to wrap around themselves when screwing into the X then carefully thread wires through the floor and connect.
