Yeah, these ITB for sure are neat, as well as the trumpets. Overall, not a bad iteration of a production engine found in all sorts of BMWs from 1992 to 2004 - 540i, 740i, 840i and X5s. Porsche should have done the same with the GTS lump relative to the S4/GT...

yep, their 5 liter makes over 400hp stock, ours 315hp. its all in the intake and cams. vanos is cool, but we can optimize for high rpm HP and the cams are not that radically different. there is a reason anderson and Fan got 70 more hp by bolting on a new intake.....

Here is what we need to do. adapt this to our car, bolt on the intake, cut out the dual throttle body inlet and use a Vet throttle body, feed it to the "downpipe" pipe like anderson has (but theirs is a Y pipe from two throttle bodies) and drop a filter infront of the radiator. done. a few massages in the engine V area, to re route the oil filler, etc ,and this would be an amazing bolt on.

the spacing of the intakes are about 1" longer for the entire manifold on our cars, so we just put on a set of tubes that angle together a little to bolt on to this assembly and mirror what the intake box sees on the BMW. Its a real slick set up and intake work is a breeze. the only challenge is a throttle body linkage set up, which actually would be easier than mark and Joe's. because it would be one honkin throttle body and a single down pipe for the intake

Mark, that is awsome. Are you going to attempt the conversion?
