Oil Pressure Level Sender Connection
How does the connector unplug from the oil pressure level sender on top of the oil pan? Does it just pop off, or is there some trick?

There are two nuts - one on each post - very small; pull little rubber boots off the connections to access. Remember which nut comes off which post for re-connect. I recall they are slightly different sizes.

the sender on top of the oil pan is a push on type connection,
once the rubber boot is pulled up then the plug on the barrel pin pulls off.
usually the rubber boot is FUBAR.
so adding a few pieces of heat shrink to the barrel and wire end will add to the connector

It's different for 89+ cars. Must carefully use a heat gun until the rubber is soft enough to pull free easily. Be careful when pulling so as not to damage the harness wires.

Thanks, all. I understand exactly what borland means, now that I've … destructively evaluated my boot.
I don't suppose this boot is available anywhere, is it?

Confusion obvious regarding which sender and the type of connection. OP asks about the connection to oil level switch on the top front of the oil sump. Rubber boot covers a friction-fit barrel that slides over a threaded post. Some others are thinking about the connection to the oil pressure switch, connection type changed from screw-on to push on for '89+ MY cars.
