On a serious note, I found this a while ago.

Looks Like Trouble

It summarizes most of the (normal) bad smells for a car. Makes a good starting point.

Steaks though . . . . mmm

Default Steak Smell —My Infinity G35 2007 does too!

When you figure it out can you please let me know. When I turn on my car (I park uphill )the steak smell starts too! Especially as I turn my heater on. The smell continues on flat ground if the heater is on. Sometimes it starts mid-drive on flat land if the heater is on. Please update me. Hope it’s not toxic.

well done on your search effort to bring one out of the basement.
look in the aircleaner and under it in the V,
and in the blower duct and lift the car,
look on top of the exhaust pipe s and heat shields

I would guess that the steak is well cooked after 11 years!
