You can run the VIN at suncoast, but I'm positive that the interior is the same as mine... Classic Grey.

That reminds me, I need to take some interior pictures.

Welcome and enjoy your new 928... Very nice looking specimen.

Its your car so any choices are yours despite what others may say. Some will argue it should remain stock others modify them to the hilt. I prefer to 'modernise' the car especially in making the mechanicals more up to date.

There's many stock strg wheels in garages, perhaps get one and try it, see how it works for you. If you like it Paul Champagne could recover it for you to look fantastic.

Also, have a look at 928 Specialists site. They used to have many strg wheels to choose from.

Congrats on the purchase, that's a nice looking 928! What part of FL did the car come from?

No worries for me as long as the speedo and tach are in sight!

Nice car, have fun with it!

Nice Ride. The PO kept the engine bay pretty decent. Enjoy as others said.

Suncoast? Somehow I missed that resource. Can it handle RoW VINs? URL? Thanks!

edit: Found it: http://www.suncoastparts.com/category/VINDECODER.html

Nice car- I don't recall seeing that combination before, if the interior is accurately reflected on my monitor. I thoroughly enjoyed my '85.

That's a sweet looking car. It does look vaguely familiar in that engine bay. Search for those under the hood pic threads and see if you can find it.

Nice car, welcome. Nice looking intake, looks like the PO was an enthusiast and that is a good thing! S styling and 32V engine is the shiznit!

Of course I am a bit biased...

Thanks to all the great comments from everybody. Finding this forum helped me decide to get a 928. I was used to the Pelican forum which isn't near as active for the 928 so I was always worried about getting help. Also I think I might have an 86.5 instead of an 86. The vin ends 2533. Also if what I was just reading is correct the jack points on an 86.5 are square and hang down?

Congrats! This looks like a nice and well cared-for example.

Based on your VIN, it would be an 86.5. If it has ABS, it certainly is.

The only grey vinyl interior color available at the time was grey-green. Please note that there is no more replacement carpet available in this color. Be careful!

That steering wheel... I'd much prefer an original or 930 style wheel, but that's my personal preference. I don't like to see any metal spokes in front of me - one less hard thing my head can hit in case of a bad accident.

Racine. I've noticed quite a few post from other WI people. Hoping there are some in the SE.
