really? ever wonder why the tire weighs more than the rim??? there is more mass out there. certainly their are some thicker parts of the tire that will weigh more than the light alloys and THEIR respective thickness. Point is, that its usually a trade off with rim diameter for tire sidewall thickness, thats all. no need to get smartypants on us.

What was briefly touched on, but not followed up - the "aftermarket". This means, I guess, in code - 'Chinese Wheels'. I care less about the weight as compared to the roundness, balance and strength. I have Ronals on our other German cars and they are super light, in near perfect balance and very round. From the factory they were also stupid expensive. Get what you pay for? Sometimes.

18x10x65mm and quoted at 19lbs each.....very light for an 18" rim....add in about a 24lb tire and its the same weights as I run now....
Brian those Oz wheels are nice. Only thing I read on that link though that might cause a problem was the statement ....

Estimated Availability: fewer than 4

Well, most of the Cup 4's were round... (Check the wheel weight count- that one went back...)

Did you try rebalancing with the red dot at the valve stem?
