All the components arrived. Got everything tossed into cad, and here is the first proposed crossover layout. Still hope to start shipping next week, but we will see how everything works out with the PCB manufacture. Here are the top and bottom of the board. Lots of copper on there to keep the impedance down.

Thanks
Hans

Thanks Hans, for keeping us all up to date on your progress (and yes: can't have enough copper on the PCB for these kind of circuits, very nice).
I have a feeling 2012 is going to sound like a good year for all of us!

Another update. I spoke with my contact at the board manufacturing facility that I like to use - they are are really good guys, and glad to make an introduction if anyone here needs a good board house.

They are off-shore in Malaysia, and I have traditionally always had very fast service. Often getting boards withing 7 days of an order. However because of both Western and Eastern holidays, things have gotten a bit backed up. They have comitted that I will have my boards before the Eastern holidays staring around 1/20, but cant give me an exact ship date.

So, everything else is here ready to go, just waiting on the boards. Shipping is super quick, normally gets here in about three days, so hoping they get here by the middle of next week.

I will keep everyone posted. I appologize for the delay, but it will be worth it. The boards are a nice high quality fiberglass, with 2oz copper, black soldermask on both sides, and white silkscreening. I splurged for the cosmetics on these (ended up costing about $0.60 extra/board) but I think everyone will be very pleased with how well these crossovers will compare to other options.

Thanks
Hans

Cant wait.

Where would you suggest I stuff the Xover? I only ran one pair of leads to the door, so will have to place it at the door.

Crossovers ended up being a bit on the large side. Quality takes up room, what can I say. However, they are still slim. They should install without worry inside the doors. probably right next to where the pocket is. Size is 148mm x 92mm x ~24mm.

For those who have or plan on purchasing a SharkWoofer, I have a mounting plate to hang the crossovers in the amplifier assembly to help keep everything nice and tidy.

Thanks
Hans

Attached is a scale PDF of the final crossovers that are being made. You can print it out to see how it will fit in your application.

Thanks

Recieved the tracking number for the crossover PCB. They are scheduled to be here on 1/16. After testing the PCB, these should start shipping very quickly.

Thanks

Boards came in today. Will start assembling them tonight. Here is a quick snap of the components laying on the board.

Thanks all for your patience.

Hi Hans,

Will the front speaker kit work for the rear setup of a GTS?

Thanks

Yes, its usable in all positions. Use in the B-pillar location requires an adapter, which I will be offering shortly. It is a direct fit in the doors and the rear location... although I dont recommend installing any speakers in the rear location.

Thanks
Hans

Hans,

Why do you not recommend speakers in the rear location?

Thanks

IMHO..its just a crappy place to put them.

They're outta phase (too far away) and too small to add any reasonable tone to the music..and more isnt necessarily better. Its not 50% louder, better, clearer...going from 4 to 6 speakers.

Also..bouncing it off the glass isnt going to image well either.
