Hans I recieved my speakers last week too! Fantastically packaged and final product looks spectacular! Will be installing this week. Hopefully my headunit will be back from Eclipse this week as well (Bluetooth and microphone stopped working) so I can do some sound checking. If they sound as good as they look, I'll be tickled pink! What are the power ratings?

Thanks guys.
Power rating on these is probably somewhere around 75w continuous through the crossover I would guess the drivers to have about 50-60w of constant power handling, and musical power handling higher in the 75-80w range. I did not pay to have these tested for this parameter. The crossover is going to eat some of the headroom in that, and then its also split with the tweeter that has a very healthy power handling of approximately 50w itself because of the aluminum heatsink rear cup design.
These are decently efficient for their size. I think they will be happy with an amp rated at 20w/channel, and accept up to a 100w/channel amp when properly configured. Clipping generally is what kills a speaker, not good clean power.
Thanks,
Hans

Brian,
Shooting for a $399 retail on the kit. It may bump up a bit as several of my costs have gone up, but will try and keep it at that projected price. I sold some at near cost in the preorder so I didnt have to front the cost of all the crossovers components. As soon as I get all the preorder speakers out, I will open a new official product thread, and offer a onetime discount before locking in the retail pricing to include some of our vendors as a point of sale for this product line.
Thanks for the interest.

Received my set this weekend. Packaging was sturdy and professional in appearance. Hope to have these in by this coming weekend. Hope they sound as good as they look. Very impressive!

First person to get pics posted of the kit installed, with some good install tips/tricks and maybe a couple of in-progress pics will get a set of the upcoming matching 6.5" drivers at my cost.
Look forward to some install feedback.

Hans I tried yesterday to send picture , but can't get pictures down loaded. May try and send them to your e-mail. I only have the drivers side in and can tell a big difference with the quality..

Great news that the speakers are finally on a roll......I'm looking forward to ordering them when the program is finalized. Now, how about the new AC control panels and carputer. Where are we on that?
I only want to pull my console and dash once. Best regards, and thank you for your vision!

I know I was not first, but no big deal... Just saw this post
These went in real easy. Once you have the door panels off http://nichols.nu/tip082.htm, the replacement is simple:
o Twist, pop/pry off the old covers
o Remove and keep the screws
o Remove the wires
o Unbolt the wire hold downs
o Remove the old cross over
* extra step - I cut the ends off of the old crossover and reused the wire protectant cover
* pull old wires out
* fish a strong string down the wire protector
* fold length of wire in half (enough to span for each speaker) and work it through the old wire protector... Takes a little time, but was worth it to me
* cut the length at the wire bend where you pulled it through
o Install new speaker with old screws - make sure tweeter is facing up and away from the driver - same as stock
o Remove the woofer sticker that came in the kit and add "project 9" sticker (pops off with a razer and scrape clean)
o Instal dust covers and align
o Remove old cross over mounting clips (pinch the 4 hooks on the in-side and remove from other side on both - pretty easy)
o Lay cross over in final location and mark holes to drill
o Drill holes same size as cross over mounting holes
* could do next steps different, I just use the hardware sent with the kits plus washers
o Use screw with kit and add washer from the interior side (from the passengers to the outside)
o Use monting clips placed around the holes on the crossover and tighted down (the clips are folded in two, I used them to overlap one end and then threaded it through)
* if you used the old wire protector sleeve you will need to ensure you know where each wire is going - continuity tester makes this easy
o Strip the wires about 3/8" for the speakers and crimp on tweeter wires, the woofer is a push down button
o Strip the wires about 1/4-3/8" for crossover side and strew down in the clip hardware sent with the kit
o Install the wire mounting hadware supplied (careful to watch pos and neg sides)
o Reuse the wire hold downs over the wires (this was easy sense I used the old protecting cover)
o Tighten as needed and you are done
One of the easier jobs so far... Once the door panels were off
