Default Throttle valve opening gap at idle

I have been trying to fix my high idle for some time. May have tracked it to a PO adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body. Anybody know what the opening gap of the throttle plate is at idle?? It looks like it is factory set.

it is factory set ,
you will need someone with a unit already off and they may be able to get a feeler gauge into the opening to tell you how to get a ball park, as an aside you could always measure yours now and see what someone else posts

My gap was large ( when I backed off idle screw plate moved at least 2mm).I think(hope) this was the problem with my high idle. If anyone out there has a throttle body and a feeler gauge would appreciate checking how much throttle plate is open at idle

TB off of an '87 S4: My thinnest feeler -- 0.0015" -- would not fit.

I think the goal is for the throttle plate to be closed as far as possible without sticking. Ideally you want all of the idle air going through the ISV.

Jim, thanks thats very helpful. Mine was a big gap and I have a 1100rpm idle, Need to get an idea of the factory setting on the idle as it seems impossible to change with intake in place, trying to avoid trial and error
