Ignition and starter wire / alarm install
Spent a couple of hours today to remove the remains of the PO's crappy alarm system and ran the majority of wires for the new clifford system.
I got the parking lights 'flashing' to work, and the central locking system to lock and unlock the doors (using negative pulse on pin 3 and 5 of central locking control unit).
Tomorrow I plan to install the igintion and starter circuit break. What would be the best place to do this? I could try the ignition switch, but recall it is pretty hard to get to these wires, let alone do some proper soldering.
Can anyone give some advice which is the best place to break the ignition and starter circuit?
Cheers

Went ahead with the alarm install this evening, and I am close to finishing the install.
I really like the nice comfort features of the clifford system.
When arming the system the indicator lights flash (took the wires from the P connector, off course with two diodes),and when it is dark the parking light automatically turn on when driving and 'follow you home' when arming the syten (found the parking light wires also at the CE panel and connected them with two diodes, so the L/R parking features still work)
Will mount the siren tomorrow and tidy up the wiring.
Any tips on best place for the siren?
Cheers

Locate the signal connection (not the power connection) to the EZK relay - I don't have WDs here at work to check connection numbers - EZK relay powers on EZK ECU which then powers on LH and thus fuel pumps. With no EZK you have no ignition, or fuel delivery.
For starter use starter relay signal connection.
Using the relay signal connection means the alarm is only switching a very small current - approx 0.1A - it also means that if the alarm dies you can bypass it's immobilisation by bridging the EZK and Starter relays getting you going again.
IIRC both these circuits at least on a 90 come out of and return into the CE panel. I can look up numbers tonight if required.

Are you doing this for remote start capability or just theft prevention?
Personally don't like remote starters - esp on manual cars !!
If its just for immobilization - I'd only do one of these - I'd stick with just the factory imoobilization loop. Use the standard ignition system disable wiring - if you are locating the new system where the factory alarm was it probably already wired to that point. Which pins of CE depends on the year... as Wally said.
