Default Original Pre-Amp connection to a modern ISO block stereo lead?

Just trying to work out how to fit my Stereo in my New Euroe 928 S4 MY88.
It is still fitted with the Blaupunkt Pre-Amp by the passenger seat & has the round plug up at the back of the stereo area in the centre console so looks like I need to do some wiring/plug modifications to get it to fit with a modern ISO connector?

Is it best to pull the pre-amplifier out and run new speaker wires to the passenger seat area or is there a way to use the original pre-amp with a modern Kenwood style stereo?

Any help or idea's?

Thanks in advance

Steve

The factory external amp is junk. Most aftermarket head units, like your Kenwood, provide sufficient power to drive the 928's four sets of 4" mid range and tweeters. The remaining two woofers can be driven from a small 2-channel external amplifier that resides in the same location as the factory external amplifier.

I have this setup on my 90' S4 with 10 speaker system. I replaced the factory DIN cable with a cable bundle I made. The cable bundle consists of a pair (left and right) pre-amp cables and four sets of speaker wires.

I was using a small Sony 2-channel amp, but have replaced it with a smaller 2-channel unit, a Shark SHKQA1302.

Thats great info thanks.
I will get to pulling out the old amp and buy some flat speaker cabling to feed from the Center console over to where the amp was and connect the speakers up accordingly.

The extrra woofer 2 channel amp sounds a good idea.

Cheers

If you want to use the existing factory DIN cable to run pre-amp signals and provide switched power to the sub amp, here are a bunch of pinouts for the factory headunit to preamp DIN cable and power cables:

8-pin DIN pinout:

Note that the pinout numbers at right in the image above are arbitray, based on a numbering convention I found online:

This is an adapter (at left) made to connect a CDR-220 to the factory power connector (on the right):

Stefan at SWStereo can make you any adapter you like to move pre-amp signals to the factory amp location if you're not a wiring DIY'er.

Forgot, my cable bundle also includes a small amp control signal wire.

The factory speakers cones are also junk, so you might want to consider replacing the speakers with dual cone or component speakers. Some can be fit with the factory grills. I replaced all of mine, however I am still using the small factory tweeters.
