Help with GTS piston rings
Would anybody please be able to assist me with the name of a supplier who ships internationally and would be able to supply me with a set of piston rings for a 1993 GTS? I've found a couple of sites such as Partsgeek who have these rings for far less than the $186.00 per piston I'm being told here in the UK but they don't ship internationally.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you cant get them from Mark A at 98 INTL
Perhaps you should call.....

Try Sunset Imports in Oregon, Im to lazy to get their number but ill tell you i buy all my factory parts from them. And GTS rings are one of those things that i believe is not supported by the OEM market.
You may have better luck machining the pistons to both drill out the oil drain back holes (which i would insist you do) but you could possibly alter the ring gaps so you could fit S4 rings which are far more common. It may only be one of the 3 ring gaps that would need to be altered, at least one of the GTS's rings is thinner (I BELIEVE) That was an idea by someone else here on the board, not sure what became of it though.

They are ridiculously expensive regardless of where you get them and when you get them don't be surprised if end gap is too large straight out of the package.

It was my idea but it's a stupid one. The GTS rings I believe are wider than the S4 rings, so the machining the ring grooves is not an option.

What I would do is find the exact spec on the rings.
Then phone these companies

they use multiple rings that overlap in single ring lands so a larger gap could be advantageous for these type of rings.

Easiest way to get working GTS piston rings is to spend 2k and get set of custom pistons and rings. Considering how much stock rings cost that is actually cheap alternative. I do have 8 sets in garage but some of them have too wide end gap.

I guess when your talking new pistons to replace unobtanium rings, coupled with crap 1993 model rods, your 1/2 way to a bored and stroked short block.
Then you may as well buy the crank, and make the pistons larger than stock and bore out and nikasil the block.
although you could still get close to 6.0L with the stock GTS crank with new 105mm pistons and rods.
The GTS engine refresh is a conundrum, there is no simple obvious way to go. But they have obvious issues which need attention.

Wössner, they use Molycote coating which is only applied under rings and piston is cone shaped. There has been doubt in the past that these would not work but I have seen 944 engines build with them which have run successfully for a while now including some serious tracktime at the Nurburgring. Friend has 100mm stock size GTS custom setup on order through Chris White. These will have 8.7:1 CR with GTS crank and possibility to use stroker crank later on if even more hp is needed after larger Vortech change.
Its possible but practically no one does it anymore due to enviromental problems in manufacuring process. Mahle motorsport might still provide it but price is really high.
2k for pistons, 1k for rods from Australia, 1k for other parts and 1k for machine work etc is 5k. Cheapest possible stroker is at least 10-12k.
Not in average GTS block. Walls are too thin, even for 103mm.
I know the stock pistons were iron coated, I assume this is still possible?

Yeah, I wouldn't waste a very expensive GTS block on this, I would use a very cheap and very available S3
What are the australian rods you mention? I recall getting a price of $160ish for each GTS S2 (Is that what they called the later rod? I forget) rod awhile back. I think I have heard of these but has anyone installed then, im curious as to fit and material and design.

but if you wanted you can do the Greg Brown method, of buying 2 or possibly 3 sets and taking the best 8 that you can find
what you do with the rest, i dont know, possibly return them to Porsche?
