Default For those who are doing LED dash lights...

So.... last winter i changed over 99% of my dash/instrument lights to LED's. ( i had to leave one of the tail light warning lights standard due to the bulb checker not liking it with both light LED in the dash). but the big issue was the 3 Instrument lights that illuminate the gauges at night. one of the LED bulb got broken... opps. well i finally got around to ordering a new one to fix that dim gas gauge side. well i forgot one major thing..... the stock bulbs have a contact on just one side of the bulb tail, ie one side is negative, other positive. BUT the newer LED tails have one of each on both sides, the positive goes up and over to the other side as does the negative. SOOOOOOOOO when i installed the bulb (crammed hand under dash trying to not take out the cluster), and flipped on the lights the dimmer switch started to get SUPER hot and smoke, then the power "line" for the lights on the printed dash board burnt to a crisp. thats when i rememberd when i did this last time, the cluster was out and i was able to test and figure out that i needed to remove one side of the contact for each side of the tail. since i did not do that this time the contacts crossed and shorted out.

so the 5 min bulb job turned in to an hour splice and cluster removal. so learn from my mistake and check the bulb contacts before you install. just incase you have never done this or forgot like me..
