Can't see the telltale drivers seat bolster, but otherwise interior looks fairly 77k-ish.

OTOH carfax shows he had it serviced at Meinke and a Buick dealer.

BTW Nobody knows what you would be getting into with the timing belt, until its checked over the range of needed repairs is HUGE, best to assume its a non runner with who knows what really wrong.

Close but know cigar. It does have a cool VIN though. If you got it up to par, it would be a great car. Get a PPI, or see if there is a local Rennlister Guru available to look it over. I don't reccomend buying unless you are willing to take a big risk... Good luck!

Looks like it's only $10000 away from being a $7000 car.

^^^^ What Chris said. The black is a single stage paint and can be made to look awesome with a bit of elbow grease. The interior looks decent too. I wouldn't give 5K for it with a busted timing belt though as it will need both heads redone plus the belt, tensioner, WP and all the other stuff, that will easily run north of 3K even doing the work yourself, plus you never know what you will get into once it is opened up.

As a FYI, my car had this exact same thing happen to the PO at 100K miles. He wasn't mechanically inclined and had it done at a shop and it cost him 8K.

Just to make things confusing...

At least one tourist delivery car with a low VIN# seems to have been equipped with all '86.5 goodies (and old style lift points).

I've got a 68k mile engine coming next week that would be great fit for that car. If you buy it, send me an email and I will cut you a good deal on the complete long block (just needs TB/WP).

I wonder if this is due to the fact that all Euro 86's had the big brakes etc...and this one was built as a Euro..until it "became" a US tourist delivery?
Interesting none the less..

AFAIK, all ROW '86 have the so-called '86.5 upgrades.

That one is unique in that it still has the old style lift points, but all the other underbody changes. In order to fit the dual exhaust, the whole underbody was changed quite a bit. The back seat bottom was raised, bolt-on rear toe arm mounts, revised fuel line routing, etc.

At the same time the lift points were changed to the lower hanging, rectangular type. Or so I thought. Maybe the very early bodies still have the old type? That one is #0069.
