It wouldn't take much of an electric motor to be as fast as a stock 16V.

I rode in an earlier version of this 928...it actually was decent off the line and even could burn rubber!!

I, too got a ride some time ago. I think it was still Version 1.2 or so. Now it should be at least 2.0.

Electric motors have high torque as soon as you power them....so off the line can be pretty good.

He mentions the $125,000 Tesla (a really big joke) and states for 25% of that he builds his electric 928.....good thing it is a hobby !

Place I used to work had an electric motor that developed I think it was 10,000 hp at 2 rpm, kinda big though.

I saw an electric 928 in Vancouver, BC, Canada and it was FAST. He had welded the motor to 5th gear because the torque was killing all other gears.

I think it's a great way to make a good-looking electric car.

Most cars like the Prius are ugly.

Good-looking electric cars like the Tesla are $100k+

My only concern would be things like AC.
If all the car needs to do is go down the road,
it's pretty easy to do. But if you want things like
power steering, etc, it gets a bit more complicated.

The Tesla is a reskinned Lotus....little magic there. Big price little magic. But they did manage to go public and sell shares of a "business" yet to make a profit
