Bump
By the way, and I've said this before, once you get a couple of bugs worked out, these are reliable cars. I'm doing 10 - 12 thou a year, daily driver as long as the salt's off the road, and I've had one real issue (other than the maintenance) that caught me off guard. (The bloody fuel pump).
Bought mine on a flier with only a cursory self done PPI, and I couldn't be happier. My personal opinion, given the work that's already gone into the car, if you give up now, you're the big loser in the transaction. (Just my opinion though).

It sounds like you're making the right move by selling the car. It could go years and need nothing, but it is stressful relying on a car that you are always afraid of breaking down. It takes a certain personality to own one of these, especially as a daily driver.
I'll be curious to see how the auction goes. The car is absolutely worth the money, but there probably aren't many people out there who are willing to pay 11K for an '87 automatic with almost 100K miles and some cosmetic issues (pod/dash cracks, seat cover shrinkage). That being said, I've been surprised by the final prices on a couple of recent auctions of very nice examples.

If I needed a commuter car I'd get a used Camry. They're big enough and small enough and run forever.
Of course, I'm about to take off in my motorhome (450ci) with my 928 as my toad. Probably four wheel to start, then tow dolly.
Complaints here!

Here's some bad news. After replacing the fuel filter and pump. It ran beautifully for 5 days...then yesterday it began doing the exact same think. Bad and irratic idle and stalling at lights. Now it's actually worse. It stalls while driving?!? I'm not sure what to do. It's something small I'm sure but I don't know where to start. I'll take a loss on the car if anyone wants it. Make me an offer

Before you do, waste $7 more dollars.
Go to an advance auto and buy a generic battery ground strap or cable.
Install it on the battery instead of the flat black plastic covered strap. (unless you know its already new)
That might solve this. Seriously.

Its not the only possible situation, but based on Andrew's otherwise extensive refresh, the choices narrow a bit to be a likely one. Nothing is guaranteed. But it could save some money.
One end to the battery negative, other end to the car, under the hatch ( you will see where). Be sure to clean the body connection point with some fine sandpaper, preferably black 3M 400 grit that you can also get at the car parts place. Worth a shot. Maybe advance auto or pep boys will do it while you supervise?
Here's a situation from last week.

The symptoms seem very similar to the last summer thread. Coincidentally and interestingly, now that intjink about it, The car ran great until Friday. Thursday night we had a torential rain and wind storm. The next day my problems came back. Similar
To the summer thread. Also my terminal doesn't tighten down very well. One half twist of the terminal nut and it slips right off. Maybe that contributes as well. Maybe I should also get a new terminal connector?
