Default Refurbed the window motors..success..allllmost, why wont this go back in?

The drivers side window is now totally slick...initial issue was bad contacts at the motor, then gummy grease, and the geared arm was dry and sticky too..all fixed on that.

Pass side..same thing, bad plugs..solved that..now good power gets into the brushes/etc.

Cleaned what I could greased what I could..but NOW the motor shaft WONT SCREW BACK into the window transmission 100%.

Here is an image of what I see...I see only about 1/2 of the insertion of the end of the shaft into the bottom of the transmission housing..as what SHOULD go. What is fitting, is highlighted (used a different photo, not mine)

I cant feel anything at all down in there with a pick, it feels just like what the top magnetic housing looks like.

And..the end result is that only the very few end worm gears engage the gear in the transmission...what the heck? The drivers side was cake.

Ok..I had a think..and figured it might be a tiiight tolerance, so I got out my man hands, and with some genlte-ben force and wobbling around to adjust the insertion angle at the bottom of the housing, worked out well.

But..spoke too soon.

I get 12v to one brush good, but thru the thermal circuit...only 3v. Good voltage to the inlet to it, bupkus out of it.

Ya..we'll 'fix' this tomorrow...

Thanks to..well, everyone who keeps raising the flag...it is all really there.

Yup, its about to be bypassed, and I'll install an in-line thermo (auto reset) breaker separately.
