Default WTB: Passenger / Right side driving/fog lens

Looking for a used lens for the passenger side driving / fog light on my 88 S4. This would normally be part 928.631.952.02
Usual culprit: Rock Damage

I'm trying to avoid buying a new one, as 12 years of sandblasting of the drivers side lens would make a brand new one contrast sharply, and I don't want to have to buy two new lenses.

So, some fading and sandblasting okay, but no cracks.

Let me know what you got and price.

I know they are rare as hens teeth ( being at the front line of the rock battle)..and worst case is to buy a new lens ( or pair), but I figure I'd see what was out there.

Mark,
Not sure what kinda shape it will be in when I get it off, but I'll post a pic in the morning. If it comes off in one piece, its yours, gratis. What do you plan on doing with it?

Assuming you already checked DC Automotive? I just picked up a used rear brake assembly off an 89 S4 that rolled through there... (no affiliation)

DCAuto web page shows out of stock, but probably worth my time to call and confirm with a real person.

Ken,
You are in luck. I have one. I replaced both after some POS backed into my drivers side at work and took off. It was on my '88 and has similar sandblasting, etc, but no cracks. I will post pics tonight (hopefully).

The price is a good question. It does not seem like our vendors even carry used ones. I wonder why...

i have one. glass is in very good condition, but the adjusters on the housing are broken. $1,000,000
i think the adjusters are repairable, but you may also be able to swap just the glass. i'll take $100 shipped

Ken,
Here are the pics of mine. The adjusters are not broken and work fine. The heads of the adjuster screws have a little rust on them, but other than that they work fine. 2 of the 4 mounting ears are broken in half. This has been like this since I have owned the car. There is enough material left for the screw to grab. I took pics of all of it. PM me if you are interested.

I also added a pic of the broken driver glass. Kibort, let me know if you want this broken one too.

Mike - PM Sent
Tom - Thank you, but I going to buy them from Mike. However, it sounds like there is a real shortage of them. I suspect you could easily get ~$100 for it on e-bay. Or wait until they are NLA, and then maybe the $1,000,000!!!!

I have an extra driver's side lens and was told to hang on to it ... not like I don't already have enough 928 parts piled up everywhere already ... lol!

Kibort, if you still want the old lens assembly let me know. The glass is of course cracked, but the remaining frame/reflectors are in almost perfect shape.
