James' comment about the Leatheriuqe stuff is spot on though. It works very good and if I remember correctly, if you look in the Region newsletter, you can get a discount on the whole shebang.

Cool. So, Mr. B, could you give me any tips to get you to vote for my car over Jim's next time? It would be much appreciated.

A wreck is an easier answer when you see something like that and a logical guess, but in this case it is probably not correct.
Pretty much. Things were not making sense as I was walking around the car.

Sure, leave it at my house for a week or so while I work on blending the paint with my rotary and MAYBE i'll vote for you.

Meanwhile, i'll try not being as **** as I am with 928 cleanliness, but that is actually all James' fault.

I apologize if I don't seem very tactful, but it is difficult for me to see someone post so negatively on a car that my father and I have invested alot of time and money into.

Understood. I would like you to understand that James and I go WAY back, and if I have come off as anything more than a joking thorn in your side, well I apologize.

Honestly, nothing against you or your dad or whose car it is ( I think your mom actually was the one that was called for the win). I think with a bit of paintwork (blending) and some good interior cleaning and leather treating it will be a superb example. You will want to put something about that rear wing option in the back of the car also. People that aren't 928 friendly may not know the difference.

If you are going to Concours the car you better get over that!!! That is what it is all about...finding the dog hairs buried in your carpet, the dust in your vents... dirt in your wheel wells. If you can't take the heat then you better get out of the kitchen.

Jon will be a GREAT concours judge some day because he has prepped MANY 1st place cars in BIG SHOWS as well as many smaller shows with 8-10 or more competitors too.

To win at a SERIOUS concours event is TOUGH! You really have to know what you are doing...peoples choice is more about having an eye catching car...well, I don't know how you guys run your show, but when I ran the show down here, we had a peoples choice award that everyone voted on and it had nothing to do with how clean or well presented the cars were and then we had the actual concours awards which were based on how the car was prepared. The actual Concours awards were the ones you REALLY wanted to win...not much you could do about the PC award...well, blingy wheels and exhaust I guess help, but really that is subjective to how "cool" the car looks, not the work of the owner.

I did have the COA in the back...idk if I had the paper out or just the folder, but the matte black wing is mentioned there as an option. I apologize as well if I have been rude. My mother's name was called because she put her name down on the form for the car.
I will work on the seats to get them looking the way they should. I am also going to have the window tinting removed eventually.

^^^ The actual peoples choice "best in show" winner was a winner at the Amelia's Island Concours. It was a VERY well prepared car. Dudeface's car was a 928 class winner. BIG difference.

I know...I have a 1999 Mercedes SL500 (my car) that is a real concours winning car...love that car!
I've always been more attracted to factory rims, stereo, etc. Just my personal preference. Again, I'm sorry if I've come across as somewhat of a dick...I don't want to display myself that way on this forum.

Are Mercedes people any less critical of faults?

Dude, don't sweat it.

I'm proud of my '88 that has one two first place local trophies. Nevermind the fact that the cars it went up against were all '80's muscle cars. It was public voting and I am sure they had never seen one before.

Went to a PCA concours just to get a base line, the giggles I got from the judges ensured that I was never going to re-enter a PCA event, or renew my PCA dues. That was back in 2006.
