and here it is ... It was amongst 17 other 928's, at last weekend's Port Macquarie Frenzy.

The owner is very happy with the result.

Here's a better option..

Cheap LHD 94 auto GTS in the United Kingdom with a straight body and thrust bearing failure. Use the engine, gearbox, and manual conversion bits out of the wrecked one, part out the other stuff.

Auto to 5sp conversion will always have lower value than true 5sp but I agree. Its much better to have converted straight body than badly fixed original 5sp. Fixing that 5sp preperly is possible but so expensive that car would have to have 10k km's and no engine damage for repair to be financially sound idea. For 100k+ km car its much cheaper to find same mileage accident free 5sp GTS.

There were 431 5sp ROW LHD GTS made so they are fairly rare but still way too under valued for proper restoration to be anywhere nearly feasable. Parting it out is better option. If engine is ok its at least 5-6k euros, gearbox is 2.5-3k, interior maybe 1.5-2k, brakes at least 500 etc. Engine condition is big if in any case and determines if its worth to pay 5 or 10k euros for whole car as is.

Hi Len,
The old girl looks great and looks a credit to the folks that straightened her out and got her back on the road - glad to hear they were able to sort the problems and that the new owner is happy with it.

Check the radiator. The front end is twisted. I wouldn't start on it as it may never be right. The front "box" won't pull out to be like new. Jim has the right idea. Better: part it.
