Default Road Trip Update

The 82 $2500 car was never fixed in time for me to be able to drive cross country before Sunday. So the car continues to be worked on by Keith at Euro Trends, Ceres CA highly recommended. I am also going to now have to sell the car over in CA because I must return to the UK. So lots of drama. Keep your eyes peeled for a listing from Brian. Thanks to all who offered to help on my cross country journey especially Brian who has been a great help. Thanks also to Gerry, Andy, Clint for the block, Jeff, Jerry, Jim Doerr and Martin, Simon and Tom. Hopefully it will happen again some other time

Simon,
Sorry it didn't work out for you.
I hope your endeavours back in the UK are rewarding.
FWIW, you can get the 310hp S cars there.... yea!

This is a sad story for Simon.....the timeline got a bit behind due to a bunch of issues that Keith discovered, mostly due from the car being parked for too long prior to Gerry owning it....think BROKEN head stud due to corrision....I have never seen anything like that before, but after looking at how bad the water pump was it makes sense

I will post a listing as soon as the car is ready!!! Someone is going to get a great 928 for a great price!!!

Here is a quick summary of what Simon has done so far

replacement block, with all new seals...think ALL of them....headgasket UP...plus all the lower seals....basically a totally sealed engine as if it was new...Keith (mechanic) bought an entire gasket kit....and should use all of them now

Fresh TB-waterpump job
4 new tires
new rear brake pads (fronts are fine)
full tune up

Once I get the car I plan on looking it over in detail.....hopefully the AC can be made functional with minimal work....we shall see!!

Good luck. You'll find another one in the future.
