Default The DIY SC is hitting the dyno today :)

Air is cool this morning, 91 in the tank......should be interesting to see what it will do. I'll post the results shortly.

The hp is lower than I hpoed for but the torque is higher than expected. 322hp and 369tq A/F just a little on the lean side, but pretty safe. I'll post the graph soon but it almost looks like a torque curve from a twinscrew.
The engine stops making more hp around 4800rpm so everything happens very early in the rpm range. I was hoping for a 360rwhp but considering the torque curve is niec and fat and the fuel ratio is ok , I'm very happy with it. Good enough for a mid to high 12sec pass

Man, I wish you all the luck you need to get what you hope for. I have downloaded your writeup and do intend to try it myself one of these days using your write up. It will be a year or so because I have many other grimlins to work out first.

How many PSI are you pushing? What are your cams degrees to?

I must say the results did look like a twin screw vs a centrifugal. Your Paxton is maxed out so you are getting 100% efficiency out of it, where mine is just getting warmed up, thus the lack of low rpm boost. Torque was very nice and AFR was right where it should be.

It's a 5.5-6psi setup but right around 5000rpms it drops down to 4psi. Would be nice if it could maintain 6psi till redline but the impller speed is alredy at max when the revlimiter kicks in. I can't go any higher without overspinning the bearing. I like it

If that is the case then you did not size the S/C right

Yup you are probalby right but I already had the SC from an LT1 kit I had on my '93 Trans Am...so it wasn't much of a choice. It was designed for a 5.7L so I figured it would be good for a 5L.

Here are the graphs, the average TQ is 317 and peak is 369:

Looking at your graphs, you have hp advantage below 5000 rpm and I have it from 5000 - 6500. Interesting that they are both centrifugal sc on the same engine with such different results. Your power is actually better suited for an auto transmission and mine is better for a manual.

Those numbers are very respectable for a street machine. Not to mention you saved like $4gs by doing it yourself.

Congrats, they are mighty fine numbers.
