Euro 16v 300HP engine for sale
I just got in a M28/12 engine, this is the 300 HP Euro spec CIS (K-Jet motor)
The heads, with their bigger valves, the camshafts, and the intake and throttle body (with its larger ID) are all coveted by 16v owners who want more HP.
I have the complete 4.7L engine, with heads, cams, intake, plenum, throttle body and fuel distributor all on it. I would mark it as a non-runner - its used, it should be gone thru before it is installed, although I can tell you it does spin over nicely with no problems.
Or I can part it out if someone wants just the cams, or just the heads, etc.
PM me if you are interested.

Hi
Ummm 300 hp with K-Jet ??? Is the AMERICAN engine better than the Euro (UK) one then ?
The only UK engine with 300hp from new was not K-Jet....it was L-Jet...
Or is this a 32 valve ??
All the best Brett

Ummmm sounds to me like you've been drinking :P Maybe your UK booze is stronger than you think???
Bosch L-jet was the US 4.7L models, and was the early Bosch EFI system, used only in the US for emissions regulations purposes.
K-jet is the CIS system, used on 4.5's and the 80-83 928S 300hp 4.7L engines.
LH-jet 2.2 is what's used in your S2 and S3's (84-86 16V and 85-86 32V).
LH-jet 2.3 is whats used in all S4-onwards (87-95).

Yes, its a M28/12 motor.
Here is what I am asking regards price:
the heads from these motors usually sell for $650 used, $1000 if rebuilt. the camshafts usually sell for $800 a pair, and the intake runners, center plenum and throttle body sells for $1000
I'll take $2500 for the whole thing, and you get the block, crank, and fuel distributor with it. or if you want to save on freight, just buy the bits you want instead of the whole engine.

That is steep for an unconfirmed running engine...
We have seen running S4 engines in the last 12-18 months for less than that...with computers... I guess if that includes shipping it a little closer, but that would still mean something like $2k...

S4 engines are more common - easier to find.
I bought these very parts myself for my 1978 928 back in 2002, and paid more than what I am asking. I had to give $1000 for the heads, $1000 for the cams, and $1000 for the intake system in 3 different transactions.
Now they are more rare than they were then, with a limited and diminishing supply. And I am asking less money.
Its a good deal if you need them. If you dont, it isn't.

I concur with Sean... which is it really? I would buy a EURO S for $3500 (oh, wait I already did that!) that is running (it is...and pretty well I might add) and part it out if I were going to spend that kind of money. If S4 engines are in fact more common then I'd put one of those in before a EURO S engine...regardless of what the car had or should have in it. YMMV...

Like say you bought an ice cream sandwich for $2 back in 2002 and you ate that ice cream sandwich. Recently you bought an ice cream sandwich for $1 and you saved it(didn't eat it) and are trying to sell it instead.

I couldn't save an Ice Cream sandwich... I LOVE THEM! Thankfully I don't ever keep them around because I would eat them all!
Gunar, I think you are right about his parts with this analogy...the problem is that these values are not static. They are ever changing and the fact still remains that a decent (or in my case) extremely nice EURO S can be found for under $4k...fully running and everything so parting the car and keeping the engine would probably net you an engine that has a final cost of $1k...maybe less.
Anyway, good luck with the sale Carl, hope it works out for you and someone who needs it!

I am sorry you mis-understood what I wrote.
I bought parts like these in 2002 when I needed them. And thats what I had to pay to get them at that time.
This is a different motor that I just got in. And my reasoning for these prices at this time.
