Actually I think the additional lights and fogs make it look more like a hammerhead. . .

When it comes around the corner, with the headlights up, and the shark nose and the antenna on the roof, it resembles a shark that's going to munch you for lunch...

Because it sounds better than calling it a Flounder which is really a much better description given that both the eyes are on the up side May also have been inspired by the Whale shark and Basking shark but who knows besides many other cars are also called sharks as opposed to minnows....that one never caught on.
