Will the wheels from a 1999 996 fit a 1986 928 w/o problems or mods? THX in advance

Depends on your def of "problems". Will they bolt up? Sure. Will they hit anything on the car? Probably not. Will they be "right"? Probably not.

Depends on your definition of "right". The front offsets are not correct. Front suspension design likes the tire center to sit inside of the pivot point, the line that passes through the two balljoints down through the tire and the pavement. About 57-58mm of negative offset is needed to maintain the original steering dynamics. Is it important? You decide.

I have ET 57's on the front of mine on Dr Bobs advice and they work great IMHO.

I know some have issues with lower number offsets.
