Default Distributor Cap Tab (Anyone know where to get these?)

On my 82, the distributor cap connects via two metal pins which you rotate until they lock under small metal tabs on the side of the distributor. At least, this is how I think it should connect - while replacing my distributor cap I discovered that there's only one tab on mine (why its gone I have no idea).
The metal tab is not listed as a separate part in the parts manual, and after a discussion with Roger it seems like the only way to get the tab is to pull it off another distributor.

I think it should looks something like this (excuse my poor drawing skills):

Does anyone know anything more about this? Is there a cheaper way to get one? Does someone have one tucked away they could part with?
As a last resort I am guessing that I should be able to make one out of sheet metal if I can get an accurate description/photos of the tab.

Thank you all.

Good news! I found several pictures of the piece on a 78-79 distributor.

Since the distributor cap is the same from 78-84, I assume that the tabs should be compatible too.
It looks like its even less of a piece than I thought it would be. From comparing the pictures to the distributor on my car, it looks as if I will need to square with approximately 1/2" sides, with a stop tab slightly smaller than 1/4" sides. I think 14 or 16 gauge metal should be strong enough. Time to see what I can dig up.

928 International should be able to get you one of these.

Tell Tom that you just need the tab, not an entire distributor with an engine attached.

I would think that any tab off of most bosh dist would work.

I did a little playing around to see how it should fit - until I got to thinking about the potentially ugly results of the tab slipping. 928 Intl was happy to ship me one.
