Default First accident in my 928 Pic's added!

Well it happened, first crash. First time I have hit anything in yrs. I was cruising along doing 55 to 65 in the left hand lane. A car pulled out into the right lane and didn't see me or HEAR me coming and pulled into my lane, a basic two lane sweep. I had two choices, hit him hard in the rear or pull my car into the turn lane and lock them up. I decided to move over and hit the brakes. Locked them up and hit the median hard! There was a median sign in the middle of the median and I hammered it. Knocked the sign clean off, severed the metal pole in half.

It is raining and I will take pictues later. For how hard I hit the thing the car handled the impact with amazing toughness. I thought it would be so BAD but all and all I am real happy with the amount of damage I sustained in regards to how hard I hit the thing.

Had to plug the rear tire and when I drive the car you can hear a thud, thud, thud on rotation. There is a vibration at 90mph or so which is pretty bad. Not sure if it is only the tires as I am sure there is possible suspension damage.

I will take pictures when it stops raining!

I'm glad you are alright!
Did I read you drove the car home AND took it up to 90?

How are you feeling?

Yes, then he drove the car home at 90 miles a hour. I couldn't resist! I know I am asking for it now.

No the Ahole didn't even stop.

This happened in the middle of the week, just didn't want to deal with it. The car had a flat and I had the car towed home. Brought the tire to have it plugged and have been driving it since. It is my DD.

Will be getting a new tire this week. I will see what happens when I drive it with the new tire. I will need to have someone that knows 928's to see what the front end looks like.

I drive to Atlanta 3 times a week to teach and on a 6 lane highway 90 doesn't seem to fast!

Yeah something like that will wake you up and get the blood flowing. I was thinking of driving into the other side of the road but there was oncoming traffic so the sign was my best bet. I never felt like I was indanger just felt bad for my car and all the hrs I put into painting it. Time for bumper repair lessons. There is no way I am going to repaint the car so we will see what I can do to make her look better.

Went outside to take pic's and the camera battery's dead and I have to go buy some batteries today. Try to keep batteries in a house with a 4 and 6 yr old!

Ugh! Glad you are okay and thankfully the car seems to be drivable. Let's hope for the best.

Knocking up some chic? Thought I was really good at not having that happen. Just when you think you know what you are doing you have your first child at 44. So at that point whats one more. Life has shown me that I really have no clue regardless of experience and and what I think I know! Possibly just more lesson's to be learned!

I'm OK and my daughter's still have a Dad which is all important. Life's good and now I get to spend more money on my car!

before you buy tires,
check your rims,
especially the inside edges for being bent if they are bent consider buying a used set of rims and tires about 800.00 depending on what your looking for. Ahh dont do any more test driving till the rims are inspected,
its quite possible you may have a crack in one and having it shatter at any speed could take off a fender

Thanks for the suggestion about the rims. Front right hit hard! Surprised the rear went flat but it probably ran over the metal post sticking out of the ground from the sign I knocked over!

A car can be fixed, sometimes a human can't. Glad you weren't hurt.

Fix your car and keep on rolling. This does suck though. Sorry for your accident.
