Carl, Greg, Members, would a extra gal container of oil mounted at the oil cooler keep oil in the pan longer? or does that oil empty into the pan?
An oil scavenging assist may be the only way, if not.

I sure like the baffle system that Sterling uses and I feel that it must be a major windage improvement.

To polish the return tubes to increase flow will help.

I don't believe opening/porting the return cavities (at the bottom) will help without controlling the windage issue first.

Good Rings to reduce blow by, windage and deflectors, pressure equalization between pan and cam covers.
Again, those cars that are supercharged and street driven do not generate these kind of oiling issues. I know Tim's crank ventilation system as well as my own do a good job in street driving and nothing else is needed.

Some of these other suggestions (polishing the internal head oil returns, good rings, etc) might confuse a reader into thinking that mods to the engine need to be made before they install a supercharger for street use - and I dont want to do that.

Now.... if you had the engine out and apart anyway for other reasons, and you knew you were going to supercharge in the future - YES there are some things I would do.

Install Total-Seal Piston Rings and have for years. I believe in them highly for boosted applications.

Install a good crank scraper and windage tray. I worked with IJ several years ago to improve and modify the kit for the 928. We also have scrpaers now for stroker motors.

...and the discussion of throwing oil up into the heads and out (on 32v motors only) hasnt discussed type of oil (synthetic vs mineral) or I have missed the pages where they discussed it. That would also polarize new motors vs old motors, as new motors dont tend to use synthetics.

It's definitely a Vortech centrifugal. It's not a Murf kit, but it does look like a Murf supercharger bracket on the car.

Wow that is loud. Don't the newer headunits make less noise?

Does anyone know if the Murf kit will accept something like a Paxton Novi 2000?

The superchargers can sometimes seem to sound louder on recordings than in real life. Not sure if that's the case with this one or not though. It also depends on what type of supercharger it is. Some models use straight cut gears, which are louder, and some use helical cut gears that are quieter. The model of Vortech supercharger currently supplied with the Murf kits uses helical cut gears.

The Murf kits can't accept the Novi 2000 without modifications. The size of the Novi 2000 means that a different supercharger bracket would need to be fabricated. The radiator and some other stuff would end up needing to be relocated some. Todd's red car in Green Bay had a Novi 2000 on it, so it can be done, but it's more involved than a bolt on kit installation.

Hmmm, I thought I also saw someone running around with a T-trim on a Murf car? It would seem that maybe that would work? Ive not had an S-trim next to one so I don't know size differences. I had thought someone told me that the internals were the difference.

The supercharged GTS I've got here (dyers old car) is a loud one, you know it's coming.

The S-trim and T-trim are pretty much interchangable with regards to the Murf kits. The differences as far as the kits go would be that the inlets and outlets are different sizes between the S-trim and T-trim. That would mean different airboxes and maybe different sized air tubing, or a stepped connector at the supercharger outlet. The superchargers currently used in the Murf kits are T-trims with helical cut gears and self contained oiling systems. They're a model not usually available to the general public by themselves. Normally they're only available as part of Vortech's complete kits for C6 Corvettes.

Awesome, well that means there is really not a HUGE need for a Novi in my case. The T-trim should supply PLENTY...

I've been researching those, they are the makers of the air / water IC on the Hennessey Venom GT:

Wonder how they would work 1 on each side.A Y pipe from the supercharger and a Y pipe out back with dual intercoolers on something with Tims setup.
