Default '77 Geneva show car (pic intensive)

Does anyone know specific info about the red Geneva show car, late March '77?

Where is it? VIN?

There was a white one there too.

I love the COMPLETE lack of side marker lights and rear bumperettes!

I noticed the steel frames surrounding the door windows. As far as I recall the production versions don't have them. Am I incorrect?

Not sure if that is bright molding or reflection around the windows.

Must have torn off the front spoiler when they offloaded from the truck.

In some pics it looks like the normally black trim has just been polished all around the windows or at least painted silver but in a few pics it still looks black...hard to say. Easy enough to polish/paint those trim bits though.

No Passenger side mirror and Sunroof. No rub strips either. Very clean look. LOVE the Pascha!

HEY OLD DUDE! Get off the hood!!

So, is this car now in a museum somewhere?

The Porsche Museum?

I thought these cars came-out in late 78/79. Are there 77's also, or just this show car?

First production 928's were the middle and end of '77 as '78 models. Preproduction/prototype cars (such as this one) would have or could have been MUCH earlier.

Some of the earliest cars had bright window trim and many other "odd" features not seen on later "normal" '78 MY cars.

I've been stalking a rough red early '78 for a while. If I snag it I would be tempted to clone this one. I would have to find some pascha material, but I am sure Mr. Budd could could do the white vinyl. I wonder if I could get white cloth and silk screen the pascha on?
