Default OB to S4 tailite conversion question

In the course of my 86.5 to GTS body conversion I'm currently trying to wire the new S4 tailites. There appears to be more than one way to do it. I'd like to get it right the first time so the light warning doesn't stay lit on my dash all the time. How has anyone wired them up in their experiences? I know I can buy the harnesses from A.I.R. but I'd rather save the $350. Who has done this before & how did you wire them up?

Thanks, Hammer

I have done it in an 81 chassis with 86.5 wiring, and S4 bumper caps.

But I do not recal how I did it as that was 6-7 years ago

The OB has one parking lite & the S4 has three. Do you remember if you just fed the extra lites from the original feed wire?

Aren't there a pair of short harnesses that adapt the vehicle harness to the S4 lights?

I thought that the S4 and OB's harness inside the vehicle had the same terminal for the tail lights. There was a short harness added that adapted to the S4 tail lights. I'll have to look at my 88 parts vehicle.

My convertable has been adapted. If nobody come through with better data I can take some photos of what was done. The adaptation on this car works, but I suspect it will be turn out to be pretty hacked.

Any help is appreciated. As long as I know where the wires are coming from I can do a clean install.

Thanks, Hammer

Have you had a chance to check out your 88?

Thanks, Hammer
