I am SO GLAD I had Greg to my PPI and adjust the tension on the belt. I am confident it is okay and was done right when he was the last guy to have his hands on it! My car has been nothing but a stellar performer. First year of ownership for me is rolling up in a month. Will have put about 20K on it since then. Two long trips to Atlanta and Dallas from Chicago area. Only one hiccup, in town, and $35 fixed that for an ignition amp. Don't count the MM's or shocks/springs because that was something I wanted to do, not that HAD to be done.

Anyway the car is getting a major service as well,
all new hoses, spark plug wires ect. I am not about to give up on her just yet.
Drop in and talk to Imre. (Imo000)
He's not far from you.
With his experience and advice you could save yourself a lot of grief and money.
There really aren't a lot of experienced 928 mechanics around, and unless you want to get the car to Woodbridge, (Courtney @ Autowerks) or a local Porsche dealer (taking your chances) and spend some serious coin.............

No, the Gates belt is an above average aftermarket belt. Should work fine.

That 50 bucks saved is worth so much in the long run, you might be able to buy a set of rims, tires and a blower.
