Cool Storing 928 diagnostic/tuning equipment in Pelican cases

Got sick of all the 928 diagnostic and tuning equipment tossed in drawers, with cables and accessories at risk of being lost or mixed up.

Finally did something about it yesterday evening.

Thought this might be useful for anyone else who wants to do the same. Pelican 1200 works for small things like JDSPorsche diagnostic tester ("spanner") and Theo's DT999. The SharkTuner is a little larger, though, and requires a Pelican 1400.

Now I can carry these things on boats, in blizzards, in tsunamis, tornadoes, and hurricanes, without fear of loss. More importantly, I can store them in cabinets without everything getting all mixed up.

Lightbulb Label the connectors, too.

Another little detail: the labels.

In particular, it seemed like a good idea to label the diagnostic port connectors.

Of greatest use: labeling the power and ground terminals — handy when you want to power them up on the bench (assuming you have an appropriate bench power supply and small clips). Nice when it's time to update software and you don't want to be tethered to the car.

Nice, but I think you missed one.... I already have Theo's diagosntic tester for my 90' S4, but I noticed that this one already comes with a case....

I've been using Pelican cases for about 15 years for my camera equipment and computer gear. Great products.
That pick-and-pluck foam can be fun to work with, your cases look factory.

I'm working on a Pelican "first aid" kit that will hold a spare MAF, LH/EZF and misc relays.

I have a giant Pelican case I drag all over the country and took to Iraq and back. No dust penetrated the seal from the constant sand storms . I can tell you it wasn't treated as good a checked luggage and we all know how that goes. Only lost one wheel.I put everything valuable in that thing. Good case
