Sharktoberfest 10

Great trip!
I caught a head cold the day I left (Wed), almost turned around because I felt so awful. My voice was hoarse all weekend. If you met me, no, I'm not a heavy smoker.
My '85 ran like a sewing machine the whole way, and I got >24mpg at 70-80. Awesome.
I wish I could have met more people. (Spent too much time talking to folks from the NW, who I already know.) Same thing happened in 2005, the last time I was there.
In hindsight I should have done some/a tech session(s). I found I like doing them, and some folks were genuinely interested in watching, which was cool.
Thanks to Mark, and all the folks who arranged the event, and all the people who were/are so enthusiastic about my gadgets.

All of a sudden it was 4 PM on Saturday, and I thought, crap, I didn't meet Ken, or many other people I'd meant to say hi to. Kept walking by your car hoping to hear someone yell 'Ken' so I'd know who you were! (Nametags, anyone? Dorky, but effective...)
You should absolutely do a tech session next year, I would love to see all the ingenious mods on your car and how they work.

Dan Hebert's Zyclamrot beauty was finally finished late Friday afternoon, and got a detailing to within an inch of its life. Final assembly went late into the night:
But it was a great day, the lot was completely filled, great to see lots of friendly faces again. Mark and Renee hosted a little BBQ lunch for 100 or so, Carl had a big table of 928MS products, and Tom and the crew were busy selling parts. Greg did a tech session on the complete disassembly of a G28.03 transmission, which was hugely interesting to those of us who are a little intimidated by tranny guts.
I had to bolt out Saturday afternoon early, but not before giving Ryan and Antonio a brief ride in the GTS. Michael (Black28) had the misfortune to have a ride in the wet this morning.... Hope you enjoyed it, guys!

Greg, Thanks for doing this. This was the last thing on the car to which I has ZERO experience in. After seeing the demo first hand I'm completely confident in tackling this job and actually can't wait to have the chance to tear into one myself. Thanks so much for taking the time to do the demo and sharing some of your very valuable tips as well, such as measuring backlash prior to disassembly and reproducing that number instead of trying to go from a book measurement. You shed allot of light on the G28 for me as well as others and I had to say thanks because this was the biggest draw for me to get down there and you didn't disappoint. Thanks also to Mark Anderson for providing the corpse to dismember and of course for hosting the event as always!
Another thing that brought me down was to see Dan's Zyclamrot (Im not even going to look up the proper spelling) car. This color came up in a thread recently as to suggestions to paint a car and after seeing this, this now ranks very high up in my color food chain. GORGEOUS CAR! There couldn't have been a finer 928 to see it in either. STUNNING CAR!
HUGE THANKS ALSO TO ROB EDWARDS! Rob actually scared me with the drive in his 6.5L GTS! WOW INSANE! Honestly I was speechless afterwards I had no idea what I was in for! Rob, I often fall in and out of love with the 928's, never completely out of love with them, but after that quick ride in your car, I realized again what kind of potential this old thing has in it! Your car inspires me to produce one of my own. Now if only I had as many great ideas about how to fund the project.... thats what im going to work on now.
Thanks again for a great weekend and I look forward to the next time I get to play with 928's and talk with those who also love them and especially love taking them apart and making them more good-er and muchoooo faster! ME LIKEEEE
Oh and I'm glad I also saw Dr. Bob at a Sharktoberfest. I had never been to one when he was also in town, so that was cool, not as cool as the ride with Rob, but still cool!
Cheers guys!
