I'm bummed I can't make it..... a tech course in how to rebuild an early 5 speed would be VERY helpful since I have a 79 lying around with bad synchros (or so the PO told me)....

Just booked the hotel... Chris Ford and I are coming down from the PacNW... I think we might be able to convince a couple more folks who are on the fence... With Jim and Sue... the PacNW should have a decent showing .

Now, just make sure the weather down there will be good for that weekend ...

Im in Norcal, and on the fence...

Im positive the car will run there and back at this point..it has issues, and the rear bumper MIGHT look like it runs a "little" rich...but hey, water & oil stays where it should, what could go wrong?

If anything, I can show what $4k will buy ya if you're lucky.

Come with or without the car. I've attended a few events in the 928 community and not once have I driven one of my cars to them. Lots of good people who enjoy these cars and life in general.

SF10 will the first time one of my cars will be there.... even if I have to tow it over from Greg's shop

If I go..I gotta take the car.

Lets call it bonding.

And..just how much smog can I possibly create all by myself??

If im lucky, the sunroof will work, cuz I cant brain out how to block the hot water valve, the drivers side window SHOULD work (didnt wanna today, too cold?? Some things only work on hot days) and the pass window hasnt worked at all...yet.

What can go wrong?

Anyone needa ride?

Rob:

The more I think about it..the more I think I -should not- drive this down..until I can nail down why it doesnt fire on all 8 EVENLY cylinders as it should.

You feel bursts of "Ya..that was all 8!" then a random spottiness.

Crank sensor, hall sensor???

Dunno..learning as fast as I can, but would need someone local with a Spanner and knowledge, to help isolate it first...and I do not have this coming weekend to do it. Will be at Sears Point ....car will be there, but I wont have any work hours to use on it either. Im one of the NASA Safety Chiefs..so I'll be workin.

Better to come down, socialize and see other cars, than to fuss with a trouble car as basic transportation.

0% chance of speeding tickets.

Check in with the NorCal crew..they usually have a good sized group pop down for the event.

It looks like Jim Corenman, Rob Edwards and myself will be Sharktuning / Sharkplotting my 928 race car Friday at Greg Browns. Can't wait.

I would love to make it. Got the last race of the season falling on this event weekend! I would love to be able to enjoy the cars, rather than the work we had to do last time with my chassis engine transfer project! (thanks again Mark and all the guys that helped!)
Have fun! next year for sure, regardless of the race schedule!

Mark

And you already are spinning the rear wheels in third gear at the Autoclub speedway when you are trying to go in a straight line ??? Just what you need more power You will be spinning the tires in 4 th ! Not that that is a bad thing !

"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough horsepower."
