Default 32V 928 camshafts. Status update

Going to keep this short and sweet on this forum.

Ok, I just got off the phone with my cam guy.

We have a firm date. The cams will be leaving the factory on Oct 11!

Past that we will have them in the shop and ready to grind on/or around Oct 15th

I will be emailing everyone off of here most likely by monday and informing you.
So the remained of the fees will be due by Oct 15th.

If you wish to pay the remainder via a personal US cheque please forward it as soon as possible to avoid delays as the bank puts a 21 day hold on personal US cheques.

Both myself and Colt Cams apologize for the delays that we have seen. Unfortunately they were out of our hands. However I would like to thank everyone for their patience on this.

As soon as the cams are here I will be having one set pounded off instantly in a close to B1 grind which will be being put into my own personal car. I will then be doing a dyno pull to get an idea of the changes. This car has already put down 276 RWHP, I will be using the same dyno when performing this. It has a rebuilt MAF, LH, new knock sensors, hall sensor etc. and has no errors. After changing the cams to the new ones and doing another dyno pull the car will be converted to manual (1987 drivetrain), and another pull will be done to compare auto to manual numbers.

I will be working out the final choices on grinds (but if you need/want something specific let me know!). I will also be spending some time working out replacement valve spring sets too. So if you would be liking a set of springs with the cams, please email me privately to inform me.

For your viewing pleasure I have attached pictures of the first set of cams.

They are being shown in an S3 head as I need to extend the thrust surface for the S4 head.

I am doing a dynorun tomorrow afternoon.

The car these are going into put down 276 RWHP, but I have since converted it to a manual transmission.
So I will have a baseline done tomorrow, install these, then dyno again.
After the dyno has been completed I will be getting an intake cam exactly the same with tri-Flow on it.
I will then install and test that as well.
Then I will change the exhaust cams to the FI exhaust grind and do yet again another dyno run......

Lots of work!

So ballpark 350 crank equals 280rwhp w/ a auto, 305rwhp with a stick.

Just shy of 280rwhp is a strong running car. What are the mods, any exhaust work?

What are you hoping for, 30rwhp plus? If that is so for the price of the cam's it is a great HP gain for the buck in my book!

I have a home made X on it with 300CPI cats. The home made X uses Vibrants stainless X piece.

Other than that, nothing else has been done to it.

And I will keep my mouth shut as to what I think it will do, until I have the dyno sheets.
No point in playing armchair racer.....
