Well, I sent an e-mail for more info and pictures, (as requested), and also a PM, but no response. I note we haven't heard from OP for a few days now either.

Well, the OP is a rennlister who wasn't the least bit interested in selling it to begin with, only gauging how best to acquire it.

That sounds funny to me even when I read it.
I would be thrilled to accept 10 times that loss on any of my 928's. You can deduct 2 or 3 K from my "investment" tomorrow, and drive off with my eternal gratitude.

SORRY EVERYONE for the slow response - I am a student - and between engineering school and rebuilding my 944S2 motor this has been on the back burner in my mind. Again - apologies. Struan - I'll return your PM asap!

She put it up on craigslist - looking past the obvious misspelling of "Porsche" and several other things in the add - there's the picture and the car. Its been sitting in that covered spot for awhile. I thought it was garaged... The paint is totally dead - but that is not a concern to me - I do my own body work (on airplanes with aluminum skins too!). I'm mainly concerned with the cost of getting it running again. Not interested in a resto either. It would just be a "fun" car to drive.

ALSO
I've been reading that the euro imports in 1979 like this car probably got the Lambda sonde system added. Is there any way to go back to the plain old K-Jet with no electronics? All the cars I work on these days are totally EFI and I don't have a problem with that - but there's something novel about a completely mechanical setup (just in case a nuclear attack ever happens or something). If I had K-Jet on the car - I'd rather just have mechanical setup not some buggered hybrid mech-electric system.

Thank you everyone for all your help and advice!!! - if she doesn't move at a higher price and she can tell her time is running short then the car is mine at a very low price as advised by most of you on here. Unless of course someone here just loves it and wants to have it - but by looking at the pictures I kind of doubt it lol!

I am sorry to say based on the pics that is a parts car. TX heat has probably completely trashed the interior, paint is toast and the K jet FI is probably all dried up.

Too bad it was just left outside like that.

I'd look for another car. This one looks too far gone. Jim's right on this one. She should consider donating it to charity (If she can find one that would take it) or just give it away to anyone willing to take it off her hands.

The Euro headlights stored in a box and manuals exceed the value of the car. It is clearly a parts car, fixing it so its safe to drive will take way more than what the result would sell for.

I'd first try to save it.
Even if it were for a street / track car without interior except seats.
