My bender is about the same as in your first picture. Seemed to work fine with sand-filled tube. The tube seems to harden after bending, so you either get it right the first time or try again with a new piece.
Here's the tube I used:
Speedy Metals SKU: t4r.625x.035-72

Tuomo - thats the tube that works well. I was trying the .028 and have the problems. The .035 is really tough to bend multi-angle.

The super gem steel hose ends are plated and should work fine. Here is the -10 hose:

Some hose ends that may help: Note the one that goes from -10 tubing to hose
(second one down) & the banjo ends @ bottom-

If the stainless tubing is a problem, you could run the hoses long provided you protect & secure them well.

if it's going on a road car, The Aeroquip hose is industrial build. Many years of it working in any
number of aplications.
Take your time- plenty of choices of ends & adapters- has to be something that will work

Hey -
I wanted to update this thread. I had some more short lengths of .028 SS seamless, and I decided to try bending another piece for the section from the transfer pump up and back to the entry on the back of the swirl tank. I filled the tube with flour, as I did not have sand and felt that could get nasty. It took 15 minutes to fill the tube properly and pack it in, but then I tape over the ends with Duct Tape, and bent it with the larger bender with the outside die....
It Worked! A nice, 90 degree bend and smaller 25 degree bend in a different direction. A minute amount rippling on the inside, but barely there.
Thanks for the medium-filling mandrel idea. I have another stretch from the pressure pump to the final fuel filter before the run to the front of the car, and the hard line stuff will be done basically, unless I use some hardline for the manual transmission cooler lines.

Try clean, dry glass bead media, it is very easy to work with, fills easy and comes out easy and clean.
The same kind you use in a bead blaster, i get mine from snap-on.
