I have a puddle of oil under the filler in the valley, I also have a oil burning coming smoke coming from below the passenger side cam pulley area, and lastly the alternator gauge is showing 10 amps, and it needs jumping everytime to get runnning.
any and all help is appreciated.

tighten the 2 bolts that hold the oil filler to the block one of them is under the screen in the oil fill port.

Replace the O rings, barrel seals and radial seals on the cam housing front plates.

Check the battery terminals and grounds .

Remove the regulator from the alternator and see how much brush material is left they probably need need new brushes

The oil is common. Your filler neck gasket needs to be replaced. Don't trust your alternator gauge. Test it at the jump post. Alternator gauges are notoriously wrong. Clean all the grounds on your car (search is your friend or look in your Work Shop Manual WSM for short.) Clean grounds can make all the difference and will cause no end of gremlins in your car. Part of the reason people thought these cars were troublesome can be traced to the grounds not having good contact.

I just posted, went to check college football scores, read a few posts, and all my concerns addressed in 10 minutes. I am in shock and awe. I just read the post about members, non-members, and I didn't know anything about "joining" I will now definitely have to see what is involved to pay something for this great help.
thanks
and things are only beginning for me, my car is to be a toy, it came to me without an ac in place, (it's for sale) but I would like to put on an exhaust and remove all smog gear. any other performance mods for the budget minded ideas appreciated as well .
